Peperomia

Peperomia houseplants are prized for their compact size, fascinating leaf textures, and incredible variety. Native to tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America, many Peperomia species naturally grow as epiphytes - clinging to trees and thriving in bright, filtered light with excellent drainage.

With over 1,500 species in the genus, you'll find everything from rippled emerald leaves to watermelon-striped foliage and thick, succulent-like varieties. Their modest size makes them perfect for shelves, desks, and small spaces, while their slow-to-moderate growth keeps them manageable and easy to style.

Peperomias prefer bright indirect light, a well-draining mix, and allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Once you understand that they dislike staying overly wet, they become wonderfully low-maintenance companions.

Compact. Textural. Full of character.
