Succulent Plants

Succulent houseplants are grown for their thick, water-storing leaves, sculptural forms, and incredible variety of colors and textures. Native to arid and semi-arid regions around the world, these plants have evolved to store moisture in their leaves and stems - allowing them to thrive in bright light and dry conditions. There are even tropical succulents that grow in the rainforest.

From compact rosettes to trailing varieties and upright architectural forms, succulents offer endless design possibilities. Many develop vibrant colors - including reds, purples, and oranges - when grown in strong light, making them especially dynamic additions to sunny windowsills. And quite a few have remarkable flowers.

While they're often labeled as "low maintenance," succulents thrive when given what they truly prefer: bright light, excellent drainage, and allowing the soil to dry completely between thorough waterings.
